School of Pharmacy
School of Pharmacy, established in 1998, consists of six departments and two institutes, including Department of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology, Department of Pharmaceutics, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine , Department of Chinese Medicine Processing, Institute of Drug Research and Center of Drug Metabolism. There are 47 faculty members, of whom 10 are professors, 15 associate professors, 3 doctoral advisors, 16 master’s supervisors, 1 backbone teacher of Ministry of Education, 2 provincial academic and technical leader scholars, 2 candidates for leader scholars, and 2 provincial teaching masters.
The School has four undergraduate majors in Clinical Pharmacology, Medicine Supervision and Administration, Pharmaceutical Marketing, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Moreover, Pharmaceutical Science and Traditional Chinese Medicine are 2 first-level disciplines entitled to offer master’s degrees. Meantime, the school owns a doctor degree authorization spot on Pharmacology and operates a post-doctoral research station on Pharmaceutical Science. Currently, there are about 800 undergraduate and 100 postgraduate students enrolled in the school.
The School has a state-level teaching team for clinical pharmacology course, which is honored as a national fine-designed course. Pharmaceutical Science major becomes a characteristic specialty construction project of national higher education.
Moreover, Chinese Medicine Pharmacology is selected as a key discipline by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Pharmacology classified into the top key disciplines by Anhui Province, and Traditional Chinese Medicine into provincial key disciplines. In addition, Clinical Pharmacology major is a model one of provincial education reformation and an innovative experimental area for personnel training mode in Anhui Province, and Natural Drug Activity Research Laboratory is a provincial key lab and an engineering and technology research center for natural drug active ingredient. The school has undertaken over 80 state-level and province-level research projects, and published over 300 papers in academic journals at home and abroad. Up to now, the school has won the first prize in Provincial Natural Science Award once, the second prize once, the third prize twice, and won the first prize in Anhui Teaching Achievement Award twice, the second prize once and the third prize once. In addition, the school has been granted 12 certificates of National Invention Patent.

School of Clinical Medicine
With the approval of the Ministry of Education, the College of Clinical Medicine was jointly founded as an independent medical school by Anhui Medical University and co-investors in 2003.
The College of Clinical Medicine is located at No. 15, Feicui Road of Hefei Economic and Technological Development Zone. Adjacent to Hefei Higher Education Mega Center, the city’s Administrative and Cultural Center, and local scenic spots such as the Swan Lake and Huiyuan Theme Park, the college is blessed with beautiful environment, good facilities and convenient transportation.
With a student population of over 4,800 students on campus, the college has established a good cooperative relationship with city-level or prefectural-level hospitals both in Anhui Province and in Beijing, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Fujian and Guangdong.
The college runs on a “teaching-oriented, students-centered” principle and strives to provide first-rate education service. Graduates from this college are well received and highly valued by their employers.
Based on the requirement of the society and a vision for the future, the college currently offers five undergraduate programs: Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy (Clinical Pharmacology), Pharmacy (pharmaceutical analysis), Public Administration (Health Service Administration) and Nursing. After finishing all the required courses and the internship training, students will be awarded a certificate of graduation by the college authority. Qualified candidates can also earn an academic degree conferred by the authorized college in accordance with relevant national regulations on academic degrees.
The College of Clinical Medicine was proudly granted an honorary title of “National Model for independent colleges” in 2010.

School of Public Health Administration
The School of Public Health Administration of AHMU originates from the Research Room of the Rural Health Administration formed in 1980, enrolling the postgraduates majoring in social medicine and health administration for the first time in China in 1983. A year later, in 1984, the Department of Health Administration was set up, enrolling undergraduates of health administration for the first time in China in 1985. Now the school offers three undergraduate programs in Health administration, Labor and social security (medical Insurance), and Health information technology and management. The Health Service Management Branch and the Primary Health Care of the Chinese Preventive Medical Association and the Chinese Rural Health Service Management Magazine are attached to the school. Our Public Health Administration is nationally recognized specialty with distinctive features of colleges and universities and the other two programs are provincial key specialties.
Otheir doctorate. The school also has 6 part-time teachers. With its outstanding reputation in the public health management education in China, the school, focusing on the health management discipline construction and taking the research on rural health service as its feature, stays true to its three missions of training health care personnel, scientific research and social service.
We will devote ourselves to serving Anhui province, China and even the world as well, and insist on fostering high-level and professional management personnel. Our school is now a nation’s prestigious school of public health management with its commitment to good education, scales and discipline construction.

School of Medical Sciences
The School of Medical Sciences, established in 1976 and named the Department of Basic Disciplines，officially took the present name in June, 2006. It is composed of 12 teaching divisions, 4 medical experimental centers and 6 research institutes with 11 Master’s degree programs and two PhD. programs for immunology and pharmacology. Currently, we offer 10 provincial Fine-designed Courses, and boast 4 provincial key laboratories as well as 1 provincial training center. Moreover, our specialty of biotechnology is recognized as a “Specialty with Distinctive Features” of Anhui Province.
Among our 223 faculty and staff members (88% have Ph.D.s or Master’s degrees), there are 29 professors and 54 associate professors, of whom 7 are doctoral supervisors and 79 Master’s supervisors, with 79 entitled with special allowances from the State Council or Anhui Provincial Government, one selected into the second-level candidates for “New Century National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project” , four as Academic and Technological Leaders of Anhui Province and 12 backup candidates. Twelve of us are selected to be the backup candidates of Provincial Discipline Leaders and 13 have become Young Backbone Teachers of Anhui Provincial Colleges and Universities. There are in our faculty 3 Top Talents, 4 candidates of Young Discipline Leaders, 5 Excellent Young Backbone Teachers of the Tenth Five-Year Plan for AnhuiProvincialColleges and Universities. Among other things, there are 4 Provincial Teaching Celebrities and 5 Provincial Teaching Stars in our school.
Our school undertakes multi-level teaching tasks of basic medical courses for students of seven-year clinical medicine, five-year clinical medicine, preventive medicine, pharmacology, nursing and clinical laboratory medicine. In addition, we also undertake clinical diagnosis in pathology for the two affiliated hospitals.
While teaching is our central mission, significant energy is also devoted to research. In the past 3 years, we have undertaken 1 research program for Project 863 and 1 for Project 973 respectively. 25 research programs are sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation.Besides 1 invention patent, we have published in SCI-cited periodicals over 100 papers with independent intellectual property rights.

School of Stomatology
The School of Stomatology（the Stomatological Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University）aims to cultivate high-level stomatological experts，whose predecessor is the Dentistry of Shanghai Southeast Medical College. The school of Stomatology was established in 1952, and started recruiting undergraduate students in 1984. At present, it has one undergraduate major, recruiting 60 undergraduate students annually. It also set up one major for adult education at two levels, recruiting more than 100 students every year. In 2001, the School was authorized to award oral medicine master’s degree and together with Chinese Academy of Sciences Hefei Institutes of Physical Science began jointly recruiting doctoral degree students. In 2006,the Ministry of Education authorized it to recruit the masters from Hongkong, Macao andTaiwan regions. And in 2009 the School was approved as the awarding spot of oral cavity medical master’s degree.
2008 witnessed its clinical oral medicine selected as the provincial key discipline and its Oral Medical Center Laboratory approved as both the jointly-constructed laboratories for the central and the local universities and the provincial laboratories for Oral Health Research of Anhui Province.
The School of Stomatology has six departments including oral anatomical physiology, oral pathology, oral medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery, dentalorthodontics, preventive dental science and two institutes including oral medicine and dental Aesthetics. It is the head unit of Medical Aesthetics andCosmetology Institute of Stomatology inChinese Medical Association, theattachment unit of Dental Orthodontics and Repair Technology of ProfessionalCommittee of Anhui Province and the chairman unit of MaxillofacialTrauma andReconstruction Committee of Rehalibitation Medicine inAnhuiProvince. There are 15 people holding higher posts than directors in the Chinese Society of Stomatology and other professional societies.
The School has 14 clinical practicing hospitals. On September 28th, 1997, opened its AffiliatedStomatologicalHospital, which, approved by the provincial Editorial Board, became the Stomatological Hospital of Anhui Province in 2005. Our hospital is the provincial key base of dental education and provincial hospital, integrating teaching, scientific research and medical care.
