School of Pharmacy
School of Pharmacy, established in 1998, consists of six departments and two institutes, including Department of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology, Department of Pharmaceutics, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine , Department of Chinese Medicine Processing, Institute of Drug Research and Center of Drug Metabolism. There are 47 faculty members, of whom 10 are professors, 15 associate professors, 3 doctoral advisors, 16 master’s supervisors, 1 backbone teacher of Ministry of Education, 2 provincial academic and technical leader scholars, 2 candidates for leader scholars, and 2 provincial teaching masters.
The School has four undergraduate majors in Clinical Pharmacology, Medicine Supervision and Administration, Pharmaceutical Marketing, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Moreover, Pharmaceutical Science and Traditional Chinese Medicine are 2 first-level disciplines entitled to offer master’s degrees. Meantime, the school owns a doctor degree authorization spot on Pharmacology and operates a post-doctoral research station on Pharmaceutical Science. Currently, there are about 800 undergraduate and 100 postgraduate students enrolled in the school.
The School has a state-level teaching team for clinical pharmacology course, which is honored as a national fine-designed course. Pharmaceutical Science major becomes a characteristic specialty construction project of national higher education.
Moreover, Chinese Medicine Pharmacology is selected as a key discipline by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Pharmacology classified into the top key disciplines by Anhui Province, and Traditional Chinese Medicine into provincial key disciplines. In addition, Clinical Pharmacology major is a model one of provincial education reformation and an innovative experimental area for personnel training mode in Anhui Province, and Natural Drug Activity Research Laboratory is a provincial key lab and an engineering and technology research center for natural drug active ingredient. The school has undertaken over 80 state-level and province-level research projects, and published over 300 papers in academic journals at home and abroad. Up to now, the school has won the first prize in Provincial Natural Science Award once, the second prize once, the third prize twice, and won the first prize in Anhui Teaching Achievement Award twice, the second prize once and the third prize once. In addition, the school has been granted 12 certificates of National Invention Patent.
